There's a couple of questions we've gotten one or more times and I realize that "once" doesn't constitute "frequently," but you can deal with that bit of symantics.  Here are some of the questions we've gotten so far and some questions that we're heading off just to be safe.

Q: How do I join the game?
A:
Go read the page that covers How To Join.

Q: Where Is This Game Taking Place?
A:
Ji Dian Station rests in the highest stable orbit around the planet Heinlein, a gas giant with an elipical orbit runs at an angle to the solar disc.  Heilein's orbit causes the planet to pass near the central planets and border planets during different stages of its trip around the star.  Formerly, the station was a mining platform to take advantage of the heavy metals found in the ring system of the gas giant.

Q: What LARP System Are You Using?
A: It's a home grown system that draws inspiration from sources such as GURPS, Minds Eye Theater, and Rules to Live By.  For more information, see the House Rules.  The short story of the system is Attribute + Skill + Die Roll - Target Number vs. Die Roll.

Q: Is there a cost to play the game?
A:
No, unless we are in a venue that requires us pay for it, then we will ask for a small site fee.  Donations are always welcomed to help offset the cost of running of the game.

Q: Can I wear a costume or use a prop?
A:
Yes and we even encourage people to dress and use props.  Nerf guns make excellent prop guns!

Q: Can I shoot other players with my Nerf prop gun?
A:
No, you cannot.  If you don't believe us, try shooting Jenn.  The Story Tellers will be taking odds on who survives the confict and we are place 20 to 1 odds on anyone who shoots her.  You have been warned.

Q: What language is the name of the station in and what does it mean?
A:
Ji Dian is Chinese for apex or top of the mountain.

Q: Are you allowing male companions?
A:
Yes.  Presumably, the folks who produced the Serenity RolePlaying Game had access to the show's production bible, the book the sets out the universe, and they have a "Male Registered Companions" as a playable type.

Q: How do I gain experience?
A:
The short anwser is gain experience by playing and by sending in a writeup after the game. The sooner you send it, the more XP you receive for the game. You can also gain XP by being voted best roleplayer and by suggesting a venue we use for the game. See the house rules for more informaiton.

Q: I turned in my write up in that first week, but I don't see any experience from it yet. When is experience assigned?
A:
The staff goes through the process of assigning experience in the week before the game, generally the day after the Character Center closes before game.

Q: If I haven't received my experience point award from the previous game. Can I still make a request an XP spending request?
A: Yes. We always process expenditure requests after we apply experience points. We recommend, however, that you list your spending requests in order of precedence.

Q: Can I play a character from the television series or the movie?
A:
No.

Q: But she/he was only in one episode for just 5 seconds!  Can't I please?
A:
No.

Q: Okay, can I play a Reaver?
A:
No.

Q: How about an ex-Reaver?
A:
No.

Q: How about a Reaver Antedilluvian?
A:
Hush, Ben!

Q: Are the Story Tellers bribable?
A:
From a purely ethical stand point, no.  However, Jim would like point that we respond well to hot guys.

Q: How do I get access to the Character Center?
A:
First, go to Writings on the Wall and register for an account there. It will send you an e-mail with a randomly generated password that you can change once you log into Writings again. At this point, it is a manual process to pull your account information into the Character Center. If you're feeling excited, you can always send an email to the Story Tellers and ask them to hurry up.
